Lundström Has Departed
In the recent 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Tallinn €1,500 Main Event, Finnish poker pro Rasmus Lundstroem found himself facing off against Spanish player Gonzalo Soriano. Despite a valiant effort, Lundstroem was eliminated in 21st place, with both players earning equal prize money of €7,500.
The fateful hand began with the flop being dealt as J♠7♣5♣. In a bold move, Lundstroem went all in for his remaining 5,000 chips, leaving himself with nothing but hope. Soriano, who was under the impression that Lundstroem had moved all in, called from the Big Blind.
Soriano's face-up card holdings were A♦A♣, while Lundstroem held the 9♠9♥. The runout for the game was 10♥K♣, which unfortunately did not favour Lundstroem. With this turn and river, Soriano's full house (Aces full of Tens) proved too strong for Lundstroem's pair of Nines.
Lundstroem's elimination marked the end of his run in the tournament, leaving him with a chip count of 0. In contrast, Soriano's chip count soared to 1,800,000, giving him a significant advantage in the game.
Both Lundstroem and Soriano have already announced their participation in future WSOP Circuit events, eager to test their skills once more on the felt. As for this particular match, it serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of poker, where even the strongest hands can sometimes fall short.
Despite Rasmus Lundstroem's participation in various casino-and-gambling events, his poker skills were put to the ultimate test during the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Tallinn €1,500 Main Event. On a fateful day, he found himself engaged in a high-stakes game of poker, playing against Gonzalo Soriano, using casino-games strategies like bluffing with his pocket Nines.
